Barbara Carle è poeta, traduttore, e critico. Autrice di tre libri di poesia bilingue: Don’t Waste My Beauty, Non guastare la mia bellezza, Caramanica, 2006, New Life Nuova vita, Gradiva, 2006 e Tangible Remains Toccare quello che resta, Ghenomena, 2009, e di un libro di prose e poesie, Sulle orme di Circe, Ghenomena, 2016, ha tradotto anche vari autori italiani contemporanei in inglese e in francese. Her work has enjoyed numerous positive reviews in the United States and Italy and she has earned various awards and forms of recognition for her poetry and translation. Born in a diplomatic family of a French mother and an American father, she is trilingual (French, English, Italian) and grew up in many countries: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Thailand, Libya, Tunisia, Colombia, Italy, and France. Currently, she is professor emerita of Italian at California State University, Sacramento where she taught for 19 years. Currently she writes and lives in Italy.
